Convert video to JPG without wasting quality
JPEG is usually the practical choice for photographic video frames. It creates compact files, but repeated compression and aggressive quality settings can soften edges and introduce blocks.

When JPG works best
Choose JPEG for camera footage, interviews, travel clips, demonstrations, and other images with natural textures or gradients. These scenes compress efficiently and usually remain visually convincing at a fraction of a PNG file’s size.
JPEG is less suitable for screenshots, diagrams, small text, logos, or transparency. Those elements expose compression artifacts around hard edges.
Protect image quality
Export at the source dimensions unless you have a specific smaller target. Enlarging a frame invents pixels rather than restoring detail that the video never captured.
Avoid repeatedly opening and resaving JPEG files. Keep one high-quality export as the master, then create smaller delivery copies from that master when required.
Choose frames before downloading
A one-minute video sampled every half second produces about 120 candidate images. Preview and select the useful frames before creating a ZIP; this reduces download size and makes later organisation much easier.
For web use, resize the final image to the largest size it will actually display. Correct dimensions often save more bytes than extreme compression.
